Rad Bad Elder Grilliot email

(This was something I included in my letter to my mission president about one of our investigators. he responded simply, typo included, "Thank you for sharing these experiences. They will change you life forever.")

Brayan is a 14 year old kid who is really really smart and listens really well and understands everything we teach him. This week we were teaching him about the plan of salvation, and when we told him about the celestial kingdom, his face lit up and he said "just thinking about seeing God one day makes me feel so good, I can´t wait, that will be so cool." and then we taught him that His baptism will help him qualify for the celestial kingdom, and his face lit up again, like he really understood the importance of baptism. He asked us "When will I get baptized??" Those are really cool moments in teaching, where the spirit teaches people so clearly and they understand the truth. Brayan is a really good kid.

the best mexican gas station junkfood that they don´t have is the U.S are called "Gansitos" It has a little baby gooseling on the front and it´s like a little cake thing. Think like hohos but with strawberry filling.
There is also Gansito flavored ice cream.


hitch hiking drunk driver
a silly story. something that happened to us here in chaves this week. We were walking down the interstate, looking for a ride back to chaves. and a few guys pulled up in their car and told us to get in. We were grateful for the ride and so we got in and as we were driving along i noticed that the driver was sipping on a beer. he finished his beer and signaled for the guy in the passenger seat to hand him another one. That alarmed me a bit, but i thought his way of treating it was pretty funny. I spoke up "hey guys, isn´t drinking and driving like, really dangerous?" the driver opened his beer, and thought about it a bit. "yeah, yeah it really is pretty dangerous." and then took a sip of his beer. "don´t worry i´ll drive slow." lol. We got home safely and nothing else happened. I just thought it was funny that he didn´t give a darn. We didn´t get a chance to teach him about the word of wisdom and the amazing blessings and benifits of taking care of our bodies, but we made a friend and i got a little story out of it.

hey we had Christmas this week. we ate turkey and got to call our families. that was really nice. this week we also saved a cat. we were at like a little park gazebo and some little kids were next to us playing with this dying kitten. the cat was dying. he was crying and trying to get away, but his back legs didn´t work so he was just crawling and it looked really horrible. the kids told us he got hit by a bike. the little boy was like grabbing him and shaking him and it was pretty cold out. and it really seemed like the cat was going to die. so now we have a cat. he´s doing a bit better.  Elder Grilliot

Elder Saico  My goofy smile look (Here is the gentleman that is blind that I shared in this week's letter.) okay well we have already got to go but man wasn´t it cool that i sent pictures this week? more next week probably some higlights from this week some of our friends told us some wack stories we talked with this guy who is really cool, he used so much drugs that he went blind, and then he left all the drugs and he told us that he is much happier blind than he ever was being an addict, he told us about the way that an addicts mind works and it´s really ugly. it really opened my mind. Drugs ruined his life and he has scars all up his arms because he tried to kill himslef with a razor. now he´s a really happy delightful blind man. his dad shined our shoes, his dad is ex police, he has some crazy stories too, he was almost killed a few times. like they kidnapped him ...

Muscle Boys Go!

I started teaching elder Saico some good phrases in english, he wants to go to school in America. One of the phrases that i tried to teach him was "Doof McMuffin, the greatest horseman that ever lived." but it didn´t stick. So this week we made a new power phrase, following our secret handshake, we throw our hands in the air and shout, "Muscle Boys Go!" At first he didn´t like it, but he began to realize that he could get me to laugh every time he says it, and so he uses it now to encourage me. Use Humor Earlier today i received some revelation that i was really needing. This has been a hard week actually. I´ve just been feeling grumpy and kind of stressed. And last night i had the funniest dream. I was hanging out with a bunch of guys from the NBA and they were just joking around, and in my dream i thought they were Sooo funny. like I’m almost sure that i laughed in my sleep. and i woke up and we went and bought groceries and i ate really well. i mixed scra...
