to all my friends

all of you! thank you for being my friends! things are well. i´m still here in mexico. my companion is elder stevenson. i´m in the area nuevo linares. i´ve been here for a while, about 5 months. just so you know where i´m at. this week my glasses broke again! twice! i think the new frames that they got me are kind of cheapoes because they broke really quick. i´ve glued the big break and so i can wear them still. they work fine and i´m really grateful to have them. the first time they broke i just adjusted them slightly and the lense broke out of the frame, i think that the guy who did the glasses really forced the lenses into the frame and it was a tight fit and so it broke easily, and the second time was on friday i think, and we got back to the house and i was like, i´m gonna eat a carrot. and i opened the fridge and boom! i smacked myself in the face with the fridge door! it wasn´t even that hard, but my glasses broke and fell on the ground. and i got pretty sad. i didn´t

this week some very nice members fixed my glasses for me, i really needed that. my glasses broke and i couldn´t fix them! they had already broken like 6 months ago in durango, but i´d always just glued them together and sometimes they would break again, because the glue isn´t that strong, but i´d just glue them again and it was all chill. but this last time that they broke, i tried to glue them together and i couldn´t! and i went without glasses for like a whole week. and while i was in a food appointment with sister zamora, i showed her my broken glasses and told her the story and she took them from me and the next day i came back and they were as good as new! in a new frame! wow! i´m grateful to these good people. also we had a missionary conference this week with a setenta, the president of the area of mexico, elder valensuela, he is an amazing guy, i was really impressed by the considerate way that he treated all the missionaries. and his testimony was really strong. i also g

la familia vazquez the cursed cat   a cute dog we found just a handsome guy man, so this week we saw a doctor about the itchy curse that the cat gave us. he said that it´s a fungal infection similar to ringworm. he gave us pills for the itching, and a cream that kills the fungus. we are using both of those and i think it is going away but it is kind of slow. we also washed our sheets and blankets and put them all in the sun to dry. it´s been kind of awful. elder stevenson has been getting kind of discouraged and we are suuuper tired because we have not been able to sleep very well because of the itching. but it´s getting better. i think i´ll sleep a lot better tonight. but it´s been rough honestly. we have banished the cat from our porch and our crazy neighbor lady has taken her into her hut. we can´t see the cat in there, but we can hear it crying through her door. in other news, i´m an uncle x3! my sister renae had a baby! his name is cash, he is healthy an

Okay ladies and gents. let me just tell you that 2018 was a good year and we are all grateful for him and the good things he did for us, but we are all happy that he is gone too, because 2019 is coming up hot and man alive he is a good one. we started off the new year with a blassst. we got invited to eat dinner with a few different members to celebrate with them. and we were going to go but then elder stevenson was feeling kind of sick and so we went back to the house and played monopoly instead. and when 12pm came around we began to hear loads and loads of pops and bangs outside of the house. In mexico, kind of like in america, the custom is just to blow everything up as soon as new years hits. in mexico they shoot guns into the air. i ran to the porch to look out the window and man! there were soo many fireworks and gunshots and it was really pretty wonderful.  i don´t know why but i got kind of emotional. like, i felt like all of mexico was just shouting in grati
